As we head back east we passed through a town in Arizona called Tombstone.  A famous old west town depicted in many western movies.  Tombstone is most notably known for the gun fight at the OK Corral.

Stagecoaches were the most common way to get to Tombstone in the 1860's.

We took in a reenactment of the OK Corral gunfight.  Here are the good guys, Doc Holliday, Wyatt Earp, Virgil Earp, and Morgan Earp.

Here are the bad guys, Frank McLaury, Tom McLaury, Billy Clanton, and Ike Clanton.  Ike was the only survivor on the bad guy side.  No good guys were killed.

Hello everyone.  We hope you all had a great holiday season.  We spent our holidays in the state of Nevada.  While there we visited Lake Mead and the Hoover Dam.

This picture of Lake Mead shows the water level in the lake is very low.

River side of Hoover Dam.  Its hard to show how tall the dam is without any references.

Looking down at the river from the center of the dam.

Lake Mead side of the dam.  Again it is easy to see how low the water is in the lake.

This plague tells a story of a dog who was befriended by the works crews building the dam.  Unfortunately the dog was accidentally killed before the dam was finished.

Statue showing how men worked on the face of the dam.

Old train tunnel and rail bed used to bring supplies to the dam while it was being built.  Today the rail bed is a hiking trail.
